The kinder teachers over at Newland love using Pete The Cat to welcome back our Kindergarten students. There are always lots of cute ideas on the web to use. I just made a few more to add to my collection. Help yourself if you like them. You can get them free below. Here's to a great year!!! I love Teaching in the Tongas adorable cat clipart. Reminded me of Pete the Cat.

My students have always begged me to do these stories. They are perfect for centers, literacy groups, sub plans and more. My students absolutely love sharing their stories with the class. I often have to pick just a few each time we do these. Yes, they are silly, and absolutely they will be strange and even gross. That's why the kids love them and laugh the entire time they are doing them. They have so much fun, they don't realize they are working on parts of speech. They will build their grammar skills and won't even realize it!
Something I think all of our Kinder kiddos struggle with is listening. Years ago I went to training and came across an amazing book all about listening and math. Listen Up Math. However, many of the activities weren't great for the kinder. So I decided to come up with ideas that worked better for my little kiddos and covered the standards. I love using these for short, mini lessons and observations. The kids love them too. Great review work! |
